Second CQ

About Us

Second Chance Quest was founded in 2016 through an unlikely but powerful collaboration, twelve incarcerated individuals and their family members who believed that people are more than the worst mistakes they have made.

Our Story

From within prison walls and beyond them, these individuals shared a vision: a justice system that recognizes growth, accountability, and the possibility of redemption.

Those early founders understood the realities of incarceration firsthand. They saw the challenges individuals face while serving time and the barriers that often follow them upon release. Rather than accepting those obstacles as permanent, they chose to build something different, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for transformation, second chances, and meaningful reintegration into society.

Today, Second Chance Quest continues to carry forward that founding vision by supporting programs, advocacy efforts, and community initiatives that help people rebuild their lives and reconnect with their communities.

Our Mission & Impact

At Second Chance Quest, we champion justice reform, alternative sentencing, and community healing. Our mission is rooted in the belief that people are capable of change and that when individuals are given the opportunity to grow, entire communities benefit.

We work to bridge the gap between incarcerated individuals and society by creating programs that prepare people for productive lives during incarceration and successful transitions after release. Through mentorship, peer support, and community education, we aim to reduce recidivism while encouraging accountability, personal growth, and responsibility.

Our Work

Second Chance Quest supports a range of initiatives designed to empower incarcerated individuals and strengthen communities.

Our programs focus on mentorship, personal development, and education that help participants develop the skills and mindset necessary to rebuild their lives.

One of the organization’s foundational efforts is its peer-led support programming within correctional facilities. These programs provide structured spaces where incarcerated individuals can share experiences, support one another, and develop goal-oriented strategies for personal growth during their time in custody.
